Hi, I’m Jess Mellage, an artist based in Leipzig, Germany.

After completing a B.A. in Human Geography at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, I moved to Germany to study Book Art and Ceramics at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle (Saale), where I am currently working toward my Diplom.

My practice brings together ceramics, bookmaking, and sculpture, often shaped by themes of memory, emotion, and belonging. Raised in a multicultural environment, I seek forms of connection and transformation through my work—reimagining stories that give shape to longing and non-belonging.
